Candlepins for Dollars will consist of 7 separate ladder series which
will be taped during 7 taping sessions at Pilgrim Lanes. Bowlers will qualify for the show by making it through 2 rounds
of rolloffs. Each round is 5 games. We have 26 participating centers. The first 13 will have the first
rolloff and taping, and the remaining 13 centers will have the second rolloff and taping. This will allow each area to hold
3 sets of rolloffs. The seventh taping will be the winners of the previous six tapings (Tournament of Champions).
Each participating center will host rolloffs and send bowlers to the
finals. With up to 20 bowlers(out of all shifts combined), 5 go to the finals. With more than 20 bowlers the top
5 will go to the finals and an additional 1 out of every 4 (rounding UP) above 20 will also go (subject
to change). This is incentive for the centers to promote the rolloffs - the more bowlers who roll off, the more that go to
the finals. The top 6 finalists will earn the right to bowl on the show.
Each taping session will consist
of 6 bowlers bowling a 3 string match each, winners moving up the ladder to determine the champion. These 6 bowlers
will be seeded according to their qualifying score at the finals. Each show is a head-to-head match with the 6th seed
bowling against the 5th seed, the winner of that match bowling against the 4th seed, etc. until a champion is crowned.
The winners of each of the first 6 taping sessions will compete in the "Tournament of Champions" ladder at the end of the
season.
The prize money and bonus money has been tentatively set, and
is guaranteed by Candlepins for Dollars Founder and Cooridinating producer, Bart Maderios. These are MINIMUM prizes.
